Vermont Ski-In, Ski-Out Hotels
Grand Summit Hotel, Mount Snow
Starting out in Southern Vermont, Mount Snow‘s slopeside Grand Summit Hotel is the only ski-in, ski-out lodging at Mount Snow. Located right at the base of Mount Snow, the Grand Summit Hotel describes itself as “Vermont-inspired comfort,” with 195 rooms and suites, and a litany of great amenities, including a full-service spa, game room, a year-round heated outdoor pool and hot tubs, fitness center, steam room, and sauna. One restaurant and a deli/marketplace offer dining options, while others are within walking distance.
Guests can walk out of the back exit of the Grand Summit Hotel and right onto Mt. Snow’s ski trails. This entrance provides skiable access to the Tumbleweed chairlift and Sundance Base Lodge, or there is a walkable path to the Grand Summit Express. At this back entrance, guests can also check their skis for the night. Rooms start at $178 per night.
Clay Brook Hotel and Residences, Sugarbush
At Sugarbush, the unique red barn-style Clay Brook Hotel and Residences welcomes guests with its picturesque trail views and amazing location at the base of Sugarbush. The Clay Brook offers an elevated ski-in, ski-out lodging experience, complete with a full ski valet, boot warming services, an indoor and outdoor pool, an indoor climbing wall, and much more. Traveling with your family or a group of friends? Go all out with its five-bedroom suites. Killington Grand Resort Hotel, Killington
While Killington, the Beast of the East, has a whopping 20-plus hotels in the area to choose from, the Grand Resort Hotel is Killington’s only full-service mountainside hotel. After a day of skiing, you don’t even have to leave the hotel thanks to Preston’s Restaurant, a cafe, the Grand Spa and Health Club, and a 75-foot heated outdoor pool with 2 hot tubs. The Grand Resort Hotel features a ton of room options, from classic hotel rooms and studios to multi-bedroom suites. Families and large groups of friends can spring for the 2- or 3-bedroom penthouses, which feature 1,500 square feet of space, a full kitchen, gas fireplace, and in-room sauna.
Mere steps away from the Snowshed base area, the Grand Resort Hotel’s prime location grants access to the slopes from December-March via a ski bridge. During the warmer months, guests can use it to walk to the Bike Park and Snowshed Adventure Center. Additionally, golfers will find the first tee of Killington’s 18-hole championship course just 200 yards from the front door of the hotel. Rooms start at $230 per night.
The Lodge at Spruce Peak, Stowe
Rounding out Vermont is The Lodge at Spruce Peak, the only slopeside ski-in, ski-out destination at Stowe Mountain Resort. Accommodations range from cozy studios with mountain views to spacious 4-bedroom penthouse residences complete with all the comforts of home. Amenities include a spa, fitness center, heated pool, and four on-property dining options. The lodge is steps away from Spruce Peak Village Center, where you can enjoy outdoor ice skating, an Adventure Center with an indoor climbing wall, the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center, retail shopping, and other dining options. Maine Ski-In, Ski-Out Hotels
Jordan Hotel, Sunday River
Heading to Maine, the Jordan Hotel at Sunday River Resort is located right on the edge of the Jordan Bowl Ski area. The Jordan Hotel offers sweeping views of the resort’s western peaks and offers direct access to the Lollapalooza trail. The hotel’s 186 rooms range from studios to 3-bedroom suites, while amenities include a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, full-service spa, complimentary resort shuttle, and a ski valet. When you’re ready to hit the slopes, ski down to the brand-new Jordan 8 lift. A high-speed lift system, heated seats, and wind resistance makes this one of the best new lifts in New England. Note that Sunday River is also known for its cross country skiing, self-described as the Nordic Capital of Maine.
Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel, Sugarloaf
Located at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain, the Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel has a design inspired by the classic New England farmhouse style, providing a warm, homey place to stay with beautiful views of the Carrabassett Valley mountains. Rooms range from superior queen rooms to three-bedroom suites, all outfitted with luxurious Boyne beds. Working our way south into New Hampshire, the Mountain Club features 234 recently renovated rooms right at the base of Loon Mountain Resort. The Mountain Club boasts that no cookie cutters were used in the design of their guestrooms. Rooms range from romantic club rooms for two, some of which include a hot tub or balcony, to suites with well-equipped kitchens and living areas, to multi-level town home suites. Jiminy Peak has multiple ski-in, ski-out accommodations located on either side of the resort. The Country Inn is a short walk away from the Cricket Triple, and features amenities that include a heated outdoor pool and John Harvard’s restaurant and brewery.
