Idaho Ski Resorts

Idaho, often considered to be the soul of American skiing and snowboarding, is the birthplace of the American ski resort and home to many resorts of varying characteristics.

Sun Valley Resort, located in Ketchum, is legendary for its great ski town and famous for being the location where ski film pioneer Warren Miller got his start while living in a trailer in the parking lot. Lookout Pass, in the Bitterroot Mountains, receives the driest, most plentiful snow in the entire state.

Brundage Mountain, located in McCall, offers 19,000 acres of backcountry terrain accessed by Snow-Cat. Schweitzer Mountain Resort in Sandpoint, is located in the Selkirk Mountains of the northwestern Rocky Mountain range, and is known for uncrowded slopes and breathtaking views.
