2015 Fischer KOA 80 ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s Frontside Category.
Fischer’s Air Tec Ti technology, borrowed from the world of extremely weight-conscious Nordic skis, saves weight while adding performance to the KOA 80 through milled out sections of the wood core designed to reduce extra weight. The result: “Not super snappy, but enough energy to arc nicely and stable enough to handle crud,” says Van Deursen. The ski also has a traditional sandwich sidewall construction and a long rockered tip. Testers gave the 80-mm-waisted ski highest scores for stability, average for playfulness. “Easy to control and very consistent,” says Van Riper. “This is a frontside cruising ski for intermediates on up.”
