2015 Salomon Stella ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s All-Mountain Back Category.

The Salomon Women’s Q-line skis, with waists varying from the 103-mm-waisted Stella down to 83 mm, are designed for all-mountain backside conditions. Testers recorded higher float scores for what Salomon calls “an everyday powder ski” and lower for carving. “This ski is fun, floaty and nimble in soft snow, but requires effort to carve on hardpack,” says Pugliese. Construction includes a Honeycomb Tip, or air-filled honeycomb-shaped pockets designed for better flotation, a full wood core and Salomon’s capped Edgy Monocoque. Other details include rocker in the tip and tail, which also both have a tapered shape added for maneuverability. Muecke calls the Stella “a playful, soft-snow ski for the intermediate through advanced skier.”
