2015 Head Great JOY ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s All-Mountain Back Category.

“This super reliable ski evokes confidence all over the mountain,” says Van Riper of the Head Great JOY. “It’s more of a charger than a floater and fun to ski.” Testers gave the 98-mm-waisted ski high scores for stability, average for versatility (and thumbs up for the look). “It floats in powder, feels sluggish on the groomers, but overall it’s a really fun ski,” says Sibley. Head’s JOY line (six in all) feels light and strong according to testers, and that’s thanks to Graphene—a material stronger than steel and as thin as an atom. Other details include a sandwich cap construction, tip rocker and Intelligence stabilizers in the front of the ski.
