2015 Dynastar Cham W 97 review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s All-Mountain Back Category.

“This super-friendly ski is accessible to a variety of abilities,” says Johnson. “It provides all-mountain access both on- and off-piste.” The Cham W 97 belongs to a family of forebody-endowed freeride skis that contains the wider W 107 and narrower W 87. Tech details for the Cham W 97 include full-length vertical sidewalls, a long rockered tip and five-point sidecut (where the forebody is the widest part of the ski) along with a flat pintail. The core includes weight-reducing paulownia wood and fiberglass laminate. Minneci notes the ski “feels floaty in the tip and strong in the tail,” and testers gave the W 97 high scores for versatility and playfulness. “Light and easy to ski,” says Muecke. “It can skid, float and tackle crud without getting rattled.”
