Black Crows Daemon ski review, 2017/2018 men's All-Mountain Back Category, from our equipment experts at Realskiers.com powered by Masterfit.

Black Crows' new Daemon demonstrates the old ski design adage: you can’t tell a ski by its baseline. Normally, skis with the Daemon’s smiley-face rocker profile are in a perpetual four-wheel skid, but the reverse-cambered Daemon is actually a directional ski that holds its line when tipped on edge. Because the Black Crows Daemon is already bowed, and the tip and tail are both fairly soft, the skier doesn’t have to apply much pressure to create a round, mid-radius turn. The Daemon gets its security on edge from a Titanal laminate that spans 120cm in the ski’s mid-section plus square sidewalls all around. For skiers used to fully cambered skis and the effort required to bend them, it may take half a run to realize you don’t have to work the Daemon to get the same result. Blake from The Sport Loft didn’t take even that long to adapt to how the Daemon takes care of business. “I would buy it as a do-it-all ski. It charges through everything, even the sludge.”
