Beautiful setting
Lifts closed often, long lift lines with no line managers

Full review

Just got back from a 5 day trip to Heavenly. Completely agree with many of the reviews on this site. They seriously seem content opening very few lifts, especially in the beginning/middle of the week. Ended up only skiing 2 of the days due to being tired of skiing the same few lifts with long lift lines. Understand that there is nothing that can be done about the weather but if the winds are not nearly as bad as expected then they should be ready to open. It was to the point that everyone standing in the lift lines were chanting "open sky, open sky" (the main lift that allows you to traverse over to the Nevada side). They didn't even have anyone directing the lift lines which would have at least have helped speed it up a bit. Instead you're stuck fighting for a place in line and worrying about merging in multiple lines. 15 minutes standing in lift lines for 3 minutes of skiing. If you are planning a trip and traveling a long way, avoid Heavenly. Just too risky. Good chance that you'll be limited to a 1/4 of the mountain like we were.
