This is a severely underrated mountain that is great for a half day or learning to ski. It has an old school vibe with lots of modern amenities. The ski school is great and with fresh snow there is still rarely a line for any of the lifts. Great alternative to Killington.
Great small mountain that is affordable and close to Woodstock
Limited terrain types.

I ski race here and the mountain staff are very unmotivated. its been a month since they were supposed to open and they still do not have the lift inspected yet.
Small fun steep family mountian. No lines.
Expensive food, not enough snow making.

It had been tough to find a reason to ski here with all the other stuff close by but, I'm glad I found one. My home hill has about the same vertical and doesn't ski anywhere near as well as Suicide Six. From the main face, to the cute glade, to the really consistent pitch on the wrap-around trail skier's left, its a really fun place to make turns for a few hours. That's what I used it for as a way station to Burke the next day, having left that morning. I'm glad to have shared the hill with Vermont Special Olympic athletes. They had everything set up perfectly and everyone was having a blast! I saw a smile on every face, knew there was one on mine, and know this place has been serving them up for working on 80 years. In my case, I was headed somewhere further North, got to exit 9 about 10:30 and just wanted to make some turns so, I stopped. If this is you at some point or, you are wandering around the gorgeous village of Woodstock with the family and need some snow for all of you to enjoy without the investment of time and money involved in a trip to the nearby resorts, ski here. I'm glad I did and, will do so again with similar logistics.

Suicide six is a good skiing mountain for local families in the area who like having a backyard mountain they can call their own. Anybody thinking of driving more than 30 mins to get there should think about going somewhere else. The trails are short and the lifts are cumbersome to get to. The price is also ridiculous for what you get. If you are in the area consider Dartmouth Skiway which is cheaper and definitely much larger with a variety of trails that will keep anyone from getting bored. Even Whaleback mountain which has been struggling financially offers more and cost less.
family friendly, cozy, nice lodge
small mountain, short trails, cramped lifts, expensive
This Ski area is very well run, from snow making, grooming, the lodge and the food is as good as it gets. The front of the hill has a great drop off and ends at the chair lift, no run off like most smaller hills.
Frugel friday is the best valu in Vermont
Not much to complain about
This mountain,(hill) is classic Vermont. It is one of the first ski areas in the US and has a great history . It's small, but offers something for everyone to have a good time. From easy beginner runs (Easy Mile) to steep glades(The Glade) Six is a great place to go with family, friends, or a date. The Base Lodge is contemporary, bright and spacious. The food in the Cafeteria is fine and there's a restaurant/bar that has great food. It doesn't get the heavy crowds & vibe that the larger areas do. Like any New England mountain, there's lift lines during the traditional busy times, but you'll probably run into someone you know. We've been skiing/riding it for over 40 years. And hopefully for another 40. Enjoy.
something for everyone, great history, classic Vermont
Short Vertical, Not Aggressive on Snowmaking,
Suicide Six is great for family and singles alike. It's small enough to always be able to find people and friendly enough to quickly make new ski buddies if you come alone. Maintenance of slopes is tops and the slopes proivide variety for all preferences. The lodge, too, provides all options from inexpensive, quick food to full service in the slopeside bar-all of it deliciously prepared by the Woodstock Resort staff. Everything you need for your ski day is available in the shop, plus a nice variety of momentos. Roaring fires could be found inside and out. Some people may prefer a larger resort, but for me , Suicide Six with its great staff and affordable rates, is fabulous!
friendly, peaceful, well-maintained, varied trails, lack of liftlines, affordable, convenient
not as much snowfall as some nearby slopes
