Tuscany Ski Resorts FAQ

Tuscany has a surprise for every season and lots of activities to take advantage of. The closer you get to winter the greater the desire to ski: Abetone, Amiata and the mountains of the Garfagnana and Lunigiana change their colours with the change of season, as colors give way to pure white snow. The mountain of Pistoia with its 50 km of ski slopes is one of the most renowned in Italy. The success of Abetone is in its ability to satisfy every type of skier, from the most experienced to those who are putting on skis for the first time. Skiing is not only a sport but also a way to experience the mountain and the incredible beauty of its snow-covered landscapes. In each corner is a discovery, the slopes of The Queens, Sestaione (1309 m), Mount Elbow (1892 m) of the harness Pass (1711 m) of FARIOLI (1753 m) and Hannibal (1735 m ), landscapes and natural scenery that are unparalleled. The Lunigiana offers equally excellent experiences on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. Among the most important is Zum Zeri - Passo Due Santi which, in addition to offering 25 km of ski areas, is also equipped with a Baby Play Ground, an ideal place for families. A unique feeling is achieved at the highest peak at 1600 meters—a view that sweeps across the Ligurian Sea, the union of the white blanket of snow to the blue of the sea leaves the viewer breathless. We then move to the Garfagnana, which involves 3 ski networks, including Careggine, Casone di Profecchia and Passo delle Radici, offering opportunities for fun to everyone. The variety of slopes and itineraries makes this area an ideal destination for a winter sports holiday for all. This is also a great place for cross country skiing, snowboarding, ski mountaineering and ski touring. And last, but certainly not least, the Amiata, one of the districts best equipped in the region. Combine a skiing holiday with visits to the magnificent villages in this area which are rich in history, culture and tradition. A visit to these places means never a dull moment: after a day of skiing, take a break and taste the delicacies of the land, or spend an evening clubbing.
