Ski Tour dei Forti Ski Resorts FAQ

The Skitour dei Forti - a skiing circuit running on the great Trentino plateaus - is the key attraction in this area, which combines the beauty of the wildest mountains with resorts that can be easily reached from any direction. Folgaria and Lavarone are located at about 20 km from the A22 Brennero Motorway exits - respectively of Rovereto Nord and Trento Centro - and can also be reached from the A31 Valdastico Motorway from Piovene Rocchette.Skitour dei Forti means quality skiing for everybody, with 80 km of ski runs featuring various difficulty level - from green to black - skirting the remains of the fortifications built during World War I. Numerous state-of-the-art uphill facilities whisk skiers up to the runs in no time. The ski teaching facilities are particularly ideal to families and children. The climate here is always mild, never too cold, and the sunny, neat ski-runs are kept in excellent condition with artificial snow system facilities.Cross-country skiing and ski-orienteering enthusiasts will find great opportunities on the Plateaus. There are two important centres approved for international competitions: the Centro del fondo di Passo Coe and the Centro del fondo di Millegrobbe on the Altopiano di Lavarone Luserna, and the Centro del fondo di Forte Cherle on the Altopiano di Folgaria. But the Plateaus are also the ideal destination for relaxing snowshoe hikes, with the typical "ciaspole" - as snowshoes are known locally - and many other alternatives to skiing, such as tobogganing and ice skating in the Palaghiaccio-Palafolgaria rinks.
