We stayed at Waterville Valley resort in New Hampshire from February 15 to February 18, 2024. Their website indicates that daily housekeeping is provided, which includes trash pick up and fresh linens. Additionally, there was an envelope on the microwave in the kitchenette, requesting tips for the housekeepers, whom did not exist. At no time was there housekeeper in our unit, nor was our trash picked up. On 2/16/24 I called the front desk and requested linens and trash pick up. The operator said they would take care of our request, but we never received fresh linens and the trash was never picked up. I looked around to see if I could find trash bags to empty trash myself, but no trash bags were provided. I was surprised to see an unexpected charge of $150.00. On 2/20/24, I called the resort and spoke with Kristen to ask about the additional charge. Kristen told me that the additional charge of $150.00 was for trash pick up. I explained to her that we requested trash pick up and towels, Kristen told me that they do not supply housekeeping. I explained that their website says that they provide daily housekeeping for trash pick up and fresh linens. I also explained that there we were not provided with trash bags to bag trash ourselves. Kristen told me that they have not provided housekeeping services since before Covid. I also told her that there was an envelope requesting money for a tip for the housekeeper. Kristen said she did not want to discuss this and she did not know what to tell me. UPDATE-I filed a complaint with BBB and although WV has not responded, they did alter their website.

I want to give Waterville it's due respect. The Sununu family has resurrected this locally owned resort to a very respectful ski area which I would put in my top 3 in NH. The terrain is good on average, but can be great when fully opened. The recent expansion onto Green Peak, and the new 6 person chair, expanded snow making, and updated base lodge with deck have turned the experience up to another level. It's no surprise the local property values have more than doubled over the past few years, more so than any other ski area in the US. The future expansion of Green Peak and gondola to the village will even further raise the stakes. The only drawback is the increase in crowds on Saturdays and holidays. But you won't be dealing with lines any other days.
quick access from Boston, metro North. Improved snow making and lifts. Small/no lift lines. Expanded terrain
Becoming crowded on Saturdays, Apres ski

This place is special. It isn’t the biggest mountain but it has something for everyone and is a great place to ski.
Great for the whole family, friendly staff and fun terrain
Lifts keep breaking

Average, way too crowded on weekends...no challenges to the skiing.
Closest to B
Too crowded, go on to Loon - much bigger and better.

I came to this resort, and when I went to lay down my bag, I realized that my entire bed was torn up. And so was our couch. While skiing, there was a minuscule amount of lifts! About three from what I could see. And there was one not working. My local mountain, Nashoba, which is a small valley in Massachusetts, has more lifts than this place. Not to mention, this place is tiny. The communication is abysmal and the food is mediocre. All you get when you go Skiing is a sheet of ice. We payed $356 each to go skating on a mountain for four days. We in the Snowy Owl inn, where there is a single elevator, and the vast choices of places to stay all combined are just a fraction of what a real resort like Jaypeak is like. You can not use the single elavator by yourself unless you are 18 or older, and obviously, I did my make my children obey this trash of a rule. The shuttle schedule is impossible to read, there is no way to get to the slopes except for shuttle or car. And I read that the shuttle stops running for the day at 2:30, 3:30, 4:00 and 5:00. It was messy everywhere, with bread crumbs and spilled milk everywhere. This place is messy, dirty, boring and disgusting. The only two mountains worse are Killington and Okemo. I will make sure that we stay at Jaypeak next year instead of returning to this dump.
Nothing good about this place!
Mediocre staff, Terrible Skiing, Overrated, Crowded, Overpriced, Messy and dirty! Will not be coming back!

Outstanding total experience between the alpine & nordic skiing, snow shoeing, tubing, ice rink and Village dining, lodging and apres.

Great Family mountain that my family and I bought a condo in. Recent and future expansion of the mountain and base has greatly improved a dated mountain. The Expansion of Green peak along with the renovated base lodge has helped relieve congestion but more is needed. the lift system is slowly being upgraded and modernized but a total overhaul is needed. The future expansion of Green Peak south should make WV the second largest ski designation in NH. The expansion should have a second base lodge and Gondola linking the center of town to the mountain. Completion date for the expansion is unknown but the work is underway for the White Peaks lift upgrade and replacement.
Wide variety of terrain, Close proximity to Boston Area
Older Lift system, Crowds

Ryan at the rental shop was an amazing source of advice about what trails to ski and in what order for our first time to the ski area. We enjoyed the trails he suggested. Very friendly. My only complaint is that the beginners’ chair lift ran too fast. I didn’t make it on the first time. I wish they helped a bit more making sure the chair lift scooped up riders if it is going that fast. The other lifts ran slower. Otherwise a great two days of spring skiing.
Rental shop was great
Beginners chair lift ran too fast

Met an off-duty instructor while skiing with my two buddies. They decided to take me down a blue/ black diamond for my second time skiing, and about half way down I was seriously struggling. A man approached me and offered me life-saving tips shortly after he helped me recover one of my poles and skis. Turns out he was an instructor at Waterville Valley named Kim. Kim demonstrated enthusiasm, patience and a passion for what he does to the point where it inspired to be more like him. He stayed with me and encouraged me even though i continued to fall off my skis, and cheered me on when I succeeded which helped me eventually regain my confidence and I was able to make it all the way down the mountain. He spent about 30 minutes with me and continued to instruct me throughout the whole thing. To be honest that man was a life savor. I offered him money or a beer but he said that wasn't necessary. Kim demonstrated an impressive skill in skiing instruction and a love for what he does, and I will probably never forget the favor he did for me.
Amazing Instructor
