A fantastic ski area. Loads of options in terms of pistes and lifts. With the added possibility of going to Les Arcs as well you won't run out of skiing. Lots of things to do in the villages, bowling, etc. Some restaurants are eye wateringly expensive.
Lots of varied runs, so much skiing. Pick up the Paradiski pass and you can access more than enough for anyone. Good fun, Expo pieces around as well
Can get crowded at times but you can avoid the busy bits. Some of the lower parts are unusable

La Plagne is great for families if you are a beginner there is a great starting area. If you are intermediate there are some little more challenging slopes if you are an advanced skier then there are great off piste snow and a large off piste area. If you like apres-ski I wouldn’t advice you go to La Plagne as there are not a lot of things to do after you finish a long day of skiing. Overall La Plagne is great for families and people for all skill level but there isn’t much variety after you are finished a day of skiing
The people are very family friendly they always carry a smile
There could be better activities for after your long day of skiing there just is not a lot to do.

There is a huge variety of different types of pistes so in terms of the skiing, there is something for everyone. There is an almost 2000 metre descent from the glacier down to Montchavin. La Plagne is basically made up of clusters of apartment buildings and hotels scattered around the mountain so there is no lively central hub, just several smaller centres. I was in Plagne Soleil which was boring but not quite as ugly as some of the other areas. The only good thing was that it was ski in/out. The worst thing about La Plagne is the overcrowding. 20 to 30 minutes queues at the lifts is not acceptable. It was only busy in the centre of the mountains, if you skied to Montalbert, Montchavin, Les Coches and Champagny it wasn't so bad. The worst queues were in Plagne Bellecotte, Plagne Soleil and Plagne Centre. There is even more apartments being built so unless they invest in more lifts, the situation is going to get worse so because of that I would not recommend going in February and I won't be returning.
Nice variety of pistes
Overcrowded

Had an amazing week with Neilsons at Belle Plagne, w/c 18th March. Great location for getting to both La Plagne and Les Arc ski areas. I must say we spent the majority of time over in Les Arcs areas as pistes were fantastic, wide and open, great lifts and runs to get all the way over to The Grande Col! However, bit slushy after 2.30pm getting down to the Vanoise Express and an exciting blue (French classification!) on the other side to Salla lift getting back to Belle Plagne!!!! The views from Verdons over to Courcheval airport were amazing too. Great cafes, restaurants and bars on pistes and in villages, especially the white restaurant on Arpette run. ELPro ski shop in Belle Plagne is fantastic. Enjoy
Great skiing

We went in the middle of January.Snow was okay, but not great (icy patches at the bottom).Don't go when school's are off as it will be crowded,we were fine in January. We would go there again as it has enough to keep us happy,we are not bothered about the lack of nightlife.
it had some icy patches on piste's near the bottom
ski in and out at lot's of accommodation

Just spent two weeks in La Plagne Village, probably the best of the 10 villages that make up the La Plagne ski region with my wife and two daughters aged 12 and 8. Vey impressed with the resort. Excellent ski schools with multi lingual ski instructors who are EFS staff and teach to a recognised level of ability. We’ve been fortunate to ski a fair bit over the years in Europe and Canada and we all agreed that La Plagne was one of the best resorts we have been to. We stayed in lovely, new and spacious clean apartments called Odalys Resience Le Fonts de Neige. Ski in and out, ski lockers, pool and spa, very clean, great staff and in a mega good location. Restaurant in the complex who also have top food and folks working there would are really accommodating. The apartments are self catering and there are plenty of Spar mini markets that are well stocked in a little expensive but you must expect that given the location. Take what you can if possible or there are large supermarkets in the valley, inc SuperU. We drove to La Plagne, stopping in Dijon over night. It’s an easy drive, but we would take the tunnel rather than the ferry next time to Dieppe. Over all it’s quicker and simpler. Make sure you have the right location in your sat navigation as we had a bit of an adventure up a mountain pass that ended in a gravel road..... yikes! Apres Ski for us was nothing more than dinner out or drinks late afternoon in one of the many bars in the Village or La Plagne Centre, which is connected by a free TeleBus (2 min Gondola ride). The Centre has loads of facilities, shops, bars, hire and sports shops, libraries, gym, dentist, doctors and pharmacy. So, the business end is the skiing. It really does have something for everybody from beginner, happy day blue run cruisers like my wife and adrenaline chasers who crave the reds, blacks and off piste powder. There is also a lot of none skiing activities so there early is something for everyone. There are many many miles of pistes, visit www.la-Plagne.com for full detailed pies the maps. In summary, we loved it and the quicker we can get back, the better. I hope you find this review useful and that you love La Plagne as much as we did should you choose to visit.
Very friendly with loads of skiing for all levels
Busy at peak times of year in the lower parts of the resort

An amazing place to ski and is great value. The nightlife is non existent but that works for us. Easy to get to by road and rail and the best private ski school I have ever used in the form of Reflex.
massive ski area with loads of variety
not that attractive in plagne centre

A great resort that is really inclusive, including being a centre for Antenne Handicap - accessible skiing. Most accommodation offers ski in, ski out. Good local fare in restaurants. Ski’ing and views in the Vanoise Valley and on the Glacier are stunning.
Stunning scenery, great range of ski’ing
Limited access to spa facilities
