Sponsored by Valle Nevado

Valle Nevado, located 90 minutes (41 miles) from Santiago, is Chile’s foremost ski resort, offering access to the largest amount of terrain and the most modern lift system in the country. The resort is perched at 9,381 feet high in the spectacular Andes Mountains, the second-highest mountain range in the world. Vast, varied terrain is above the tree line, and there is plenty of sidecountry terrain as well as world-class heli-skiing directly from the resort. With an additional interconnect ticket purchase, guests can access neighboring resorts for a total of 7,000 acres of thrilling terrain.

The international-level Valle Nevado resort is home to three comfortable hotels sold as ski packages that include lodging, lift tickets and half board. Additionally, guests can book an independent apartment, which comes equipped with a kitchen. Valle Nevado offers guests a complete experience, including boutique shops, six restaurants, a full-service spa and fitness center, cinema, library, two pubs with live music, and breathtaking views of the magnificent Andes from every direction. Sunsets at the outdoor pool, accompanied by cocktails and a DJ, are legendary.

Ski during North America’s summer at Valle Nevado

Valle Nevado boasts the deepest and highest quality snow in central Chile, due to its soaring altitude and southern orientation, which brings short yet strong storms that leave plenty of bluebird powder days. The ski season runs from June 23 until September 24, giving North Americans and Europeans the chance to ski over the summer months, joining hundreds of international teams and pro skiers and snowboarders who head south every year to train and keep the endless winter alive.

Valle Nevado resort is backed by the massive Cerro Plomo Peak that tops out at nearly 18,000 feet, and in the distance Volcano Tupangato, which reaches 21,500 feet high. Big mountain pro skiers consider Valle Nevado’s heli-skiing the best on the continent due to the long runs, with up to 6,000 vertical feet in one drop. Back at the resort, Valle Nevado’s backcountry hiking to super steep couloirs provides even the most advanced skier or rider with an experience of a lifetime. Beginners and intermediates love Valle Nevado’s expertly groomed terrain and highly regarded Ski & Snowboard School to hone their skills. Powder lasts for days, and slopes are uncrowded; there are hardly ever any lift lines.
