The Little Nell Hotel at the base of Aspen Mountain is closed right now as the rooms are undergoing a renovation. Internationally known residential designer Holly Hunt was hired to make the changes to the guest rooms, junior suites, and corridors, with an $18 million budget, celebrating the hotel's 20th anniversary. The Little Nell is scheduled to open Dec. 1 with booking deals being offered. Different packages are available if you book now.

The Sky Hotel is across the street in Aspen. It's a downtown property that is funky and fun, known as a modern boutique hotel. The décor is dazzling and described as "sleek elegance highlighted with playful Alice-in-Wonderland-like touches." This means oversized leather chairs trimmed in fur and fantastic colors in the rooms. Each room has an iPod docking station and pets are welcome.
