In the early morning dedication ceremony, ski patrollers lined the slope with flags as co-workers, friends, family, and resort officials gathered to remember Shane Harris. Killed in combat this past fall, Harris served a number of years on Angel Fire's ski patrol before joining the Marine Corp in the spring of 2005. His family has a long standing history with Angel Fire - parents and brothers working for the resort in past years. "We named the glade as a tribute to his contribution to the resort and his love of the mountain," said Christy Germscheid, Public Relations Manager for the resort. Located on the mountain's back side, Shane's Glade spans five acres between El Sol and Fat City.
