Three different winter storms are in the pipeline for the West this week. We'll be measuring snowfall in feet this week at the ski areas.

California: Three different storms systems this week will keep the snow going at the Tahoe resorts and Mammoth. This first two storm systems are warmer so the heaviest snow will fall above 7,000 feet. That said, ski areas above 7,000 feet can expect 1-3 feet of accumulation by Wednesday morning. The third storm system on Thursday-Friday is a touch colder so the level drops further down in elevation. New snow accumulation of 6-12 inches at the ski areas from Tahoe to Mammoth.

Idaho, Montana, Wyoming: Three different storm systems are in the pipeline through Friday, and 6-14 inches of snow accumulation can be expected at the ski areas by Wednesday morning with another 3-8 inches by Friday night. You'll be skiing powder this week at Schweitzer, Sun Valley, Big Sky, Bridger Bowl, Whitefish, Jackson Hole and Grand Targhee.

Colorado: An outstanding week ahead. Three winter storms will roll through by Friday night. The Western Slope ski areas can expect 1-2 feet of accumulation by Wednesday morning with another 6-12 inches by Friday night. Ski areas on the Divide and East can expect 6-12 inches by Wednesday morning with another 6-12 inches by Friday night. The biggest grand totals this week will fall at Snowmass, Aspen, Vail, Steamboat, Wolf Creek, Silverton, Telluride and Monarch ski areas.

Utah: Big powder week ahead. 1-3 feet of accumulation at the Wasatch ski areas by Wednesday morning with another 6-12 inches by Friday night. Alta and Snowbird will top all lists, but Park City, Brighton and Snowbasin will all do very well.

Northeast: It looks too warm for much snow this week. Two different storm systems on Tuesday and Thursday will roll through the Northeast with mostly rain. Some light snow may accumulate at the higher elevation ski areas of New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. It does turn colder after Christmas with a chance for snow on Saturday night and Sunday.

Tomer's Take: Ski Mammoth or Snowbird on Tuesday, Wolf Creek or Aspen/Snowmass on Wednesday, Sun Valley on Thursday, and Vail or Loveland on Christmas Day.
