This jacket is perhaps the most comfortable mid layer tested this season, due to not only the material, but also the placement of it. Scott uses a blend of merino wool, which we’ve found (even in blends), can be somewhat scratchy to the touch. That’s not the case with this fabric. Wool is also used for insulation on the front of this jacket. The jacket is supremely stretchy, most noticeably in the arms and shoulders, allowing plenty of flexibility as a solid mid layer.
