The Dakine Split Roller 100L is a straight beast. It can easily hold your ski or snowboard boots and enough gear for well over a week of skiing or riding. It has several deep pockets to stash gear and is quite sturdy thanks to urethane wheels and a burly handle.
When you open this bag up, you’ll find four zippered mesh compartments for keeping all of your clothing and equipment organized. The bottom compartment is huge and runs the entire length of the bag. Use this compartment to hold ski or snowboard boots, a few pairs of shoes and outerwear or wet/dirty clothes. Up top, there are three more compartments—a square middle one perfect for around town and travel gear and two long side ones that are deep enough to hold helmets, goggles and more clothing. There are two more deep pockets on the outside of the bag that can fit a large dopp kit and anything else that you want quick access to.
Be careful when checking this bag—you can fit a lot of gear in 6,000 cubic inches of space and with the Split Roller 100L weighing in at 11 lbs. empty, it’s easy to reach the 50 lbs. weight restriction that many airlines have. Another potential issue is that the bag can tip over when it’s fully loaded up. Regardless, the multiple compartments, strong urethane wheels and Dakine’s slick styling (opt for the “Northwest” pattern and coordinate the bag with other Dakine luggage like the Concourse Doube Ski Bag or the Boot Pack 41L) makes the Split Roller 100L perfect for your long-haul ski trip.
