The Kimball Art Center is Park City's non-profit community art center, producing exhibits, activities and classes for locals and PC visitors. One of their most loved events is the Park City Gallery Stroll the last Friday of each month.
Cruise as many galleries as you can from 6 to 9 p.m. Since it's Utah, you won't find a ton of wine flowing, but you can nibble hors d'oeuvres and listen to live music while checking out the local art and local scene. The Stroll begins at the center, located at 638 Park Avenue, and costs a $7 donation for a map and ticket to the 23 galleries. The next stroll is Dec. 26.
The KAC also hosts its own exhibits. The Annual Holiday Ornament Show runs through Jan. 6, 2009 and features more than 300 hand-crafted glass ornaments. They are on display and on sale in the Garage Gallery throughout the holiday season. While some ornaments are specific to the holidays, many are appropriate to adorn a household all year long. Ornament artists are from across the country - from East Coast artists from Little River Hotglass Studio in Vermont to Park City's own Morag Totten and Salt Lake City's Terry Horton, and several West Coast artists from Washington, Oregon, and California.
