It's never too early to get excited about the U.S. Cross-Country Championships that are contested every winter in Anchorage, Alaska.

The next nationals, tentatively scheduled for Jan. 3-8, will take place in Anchorage's urban Kinkaid Park, the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association announced recently.

The competition will determine the best freestyle and classic skinny-skiers in the country, as well as the U.S. Olympic cross-country team that will compete down the road a piece in the Vancouver area come 2010.
