"Everybody's raving. We've got great snow," said Myra Wagner, director of marketing at Sunrise Ski Park. "With conditions this good and regular storms, even midweek visits are up." Last week's brisk conditions kept ski jackets zipped up which yielded this week to balmier daytime temperatures with cold nights in the 20s. The resort is all smiles despite a glitch in operations on Tuesday when a small fire burned a portion of the Apache Patio Mid-Mountain Restaurant. The staff closed the three Apache lifts temporarily to assess the damage and make the area safe for skiers. Wagner expects the Apache Mountain lifts to reopen by the weekend—just in time for the weekend onslaught of skiers and the next forecasted snows.
