Serfaus Fiss-Ladis has undergone improvements this year, with new slopes, more comfortable lifts, and greener snow canons.
The new piste 'Grist downhill' will run from Joch in the direction of Königsleithe. Another new piste improves the connection to the Möseralm and makes it possible to get to the cat-track right from the Kerbbodenabfahrt. The Urgabfahrt has also been widened in some parts and various smaller improvements have been carried out to the areas of Kinderschneealm, the Alpkopf, and the Südabfahrt.
The four-seater 'Sattelbahn' cablecar has been completely renovated and now offers heated sofa-seats, high-back rests, all-weather bubble hoods, and child-safe automatically closing bars.
Snowmaking facilities have also been updated: new state-of-the-art snow canons are now powered by water from the new reservoir 'Wolfsee'.
Non-skiers can stretch their legs on the new 1.5-kilometre winter walking path, the 'Almpromenade', which will be accessed via the midway station.
Serfaus Fiss-Ladis kicks off the winter season Dec. 3 with the weekend Snowfestival 2010 (Dec. 3-5). A full line-up of activities is promised, including parties, live acts, ski equipment testing, firework displays, night-time skiing and tobogganning, and freestyle competitions at the Fiss-Ladis snowpark. Freestylers will go head to head in the Big Airbag Contest for a stake of the €500 prize money.
