Killington introduced its Peak Walkway, a boardwalk on the upper mountain, Tuesday, Nov. 2, the same day it opened for the season.
"The new Peak Walkway accomplishes our goal of utilizing our upper mountain snowmaking resources to build early-season momentum, offer our season pass holders and dedicated guests an outstanding experience on deep base depths, and remain open for the season, conditions permitting," said Chris Nyberg, Killington president and general manager.
The Beast of the East opened on four trails in the North Ridge area, with the K-1 Gondola providing up- and downloading, with access back to the top of the gondola from the North Ridge area via a 5- to 10-minute walk along the Peak Walkway.
Killington is currently open on more difficult and most difficult terrain only, with no beginner terrain available. Early season lift tickets are $49 for adults (age 19-64), $42 for Young Adults (age 13-18) and Seniors (age 65-69), and $34 for Juniors (age 7-12) and Super Seniors (age 70+).
The Peak Restaurant is open for lunch and the K-1 Lodge is open for ticket sales, guest service, retail, and restrooms. The early season terrain park on Reason also is open.
Killington Resort is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week until Saturday, Nov. 27, when Killington will offer 8 a.m. openings of select lifts on weekends and peak days.
