Do you want to go skiing or snowboarding without having to wait in a long ticket line? Alta Ski Area has just the ticket, or rather Express Card.

The Express Card is aimed at people who won't get the value out of a seasons pass. It's for skiers and snowboarders who visit Alta multiple days throughout the season and are looking for some sort of discount on lift tickets.

The card allows you to go straight to the lift line, where the scanner automatically deducts the lift pass rate directly from your credit card on the day of use. Express Cards cost $75.

The Express Card is a relatively new product for Alta. The resort tested it last year, but didn't offer the discount on lift tickets for Express Card holders. This year, lift ticket rates for cardholders will be discounted off the normal $69 a day. Using the Express Card gives you the reload rate, which is $64, but also takes off an additional $15.

The card has no blackout dates and can be used on consecutive days. You don't have to be a Utah resident to qualify for the card. The card is not valid for discounts off Snowbird's lift tickets. If used, your credit card will be billed at the dual area ticket reload rate.
