What . . . The 200-metre-long main slope is accessed via a button tow and accompanied by a 30-metre nursery slope.

It is located 45 minutes from London and has the longest artifical slope in the South East.

The centre is open throughout the year and offers skiers and snowboarders of all levels the facilities to learn new skills.

Open practice is available for experienced skiers and snowboarders. There is an active ski and snowboard club at the centre as well as a range of private lessons and courses to chose from. Youngsters aged 4 to 7 can be enrolled in the tots' lessons with small group sizes. Themed evening events include freestyle nights and families nights.

Tobogganing and snowtubing is also available: the 700-metre tree-lined winding tobogganing track is the longest in the UK (children aged 4 to 7 must ride with an adult) and the snowtubing takes place on an 80-metre track (suitable for ages 4 and above).

The Chatham Ski Centre is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at weekends.
