Where . . . Bracknell Ski & Snowboard Centre, Bracknell
What . . . The three slopes have all recently been resurfaced with the new Perma-Snow. The main slope measures 170 metres in length and is accessed via a chairlift; the lesson slope is 90 metres and has a button tow; and the nursery slope is 20 metres and accessed on foot. Tobogganing and snowtubing is also available.
Private lessons are ideal for those wishing to progress quickly; more than one person can take part in a private lesson, but they must be the same skill level. Group lessons have a maximum of 10 participants. The 'Tots Group lessons' are for children aged 4-7.
Open practice without tuition is available to experienced skiers and boarders in 1.5-hour sessions. You must be able to use the lifts, control speed, and link your turns.
Ski and snowboard camps are scheduled for every school holiday and offer a full day of learning and development with lunch included. Kids must be aged 8-15 for skiing and 10-15 for snowboarding.
The Bracknell Ski Centre is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Sunday.
Other amenities . . . The John Nike Leisuresport Complex also features an Olympic-sized ice rink, a gym, snooker room, and a restaurant.
Prices . . . A 1.5-hour lift pass is £16.50 for adults; £12.50 for children (8-15 years).
