Whitefish Mountain Resort is gearing up for spring with two new ski and stay packages and an avalanche course. The ski and stay packages offer a way to get on the slopes for less starting at the beginning of March, and the avalanche course provides advanced training in decision-making skills and avalanche knowledge.
The resort's March Madness package, which runs March 1- 21, offers four days of lift tickets and four nights of lodging for the price of three. The package, based on double occupancy, starts at $400 per person.
The Spring Break Special picks up where the March Madness package leaves off. It is available March 21- April 4. The package includes six days of lift tickets and six nights of lodging for the price of four. Package rates, based on double occupancy, begin at $535 per person.
Whitefish Backcountry just added another avalanche course to their schedule. The four-day American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education Level 2 course will be offered March 4-7 at Whitefish Mountain Resort. The course costs $495.
The instruction, designed for those who have had a Level 1 program or similar, includes indoor and field sessions. It builds on a review of Level 1 components, develops additional skills, and practices rescues in the field.
The ski and stay packages are available only through the resort. Registration for the avalanche course is available through Whitefish Backcountry online.
