Snow Reporter Comments

Updated: March 24th, 2017 at 7:00am

Conditions and Weather today are back to winter! We are expecting 3" of new snow to begin falling after 9am and continue until after the sun sets! The rain/snow line of this system is in our favor and we should see precipitation sticking to snow overnight. It turns our spring cleaning just means a fresh coat of powder on all our trails! Temperatures will climb this afternoon but then dip back below freezing overnight keeping our surfaces and new snow in good shape! Skiers can enjoy a comfortable high of 36° this afternoon with continuous flurries and snow showers. Saturday we will see partly cloudy skies with the sun fighting to break through later in the day. Then Sunday, more snow rolls through. Forecasts are seeing us on the rain/snow line for that system but as we will see today, Waterville favors snow, especially at the summit, so we will likely pick up a few more inches before the weekend is through, even if the valley sees wetter precipitation. The free winter refills from Mother Nature this week and next will keep us skiing into the second week of April at the very least! If you are not a passholder yet you are missing out on another 2 full weeks of incredible skiing conditions! New passholders can Ski for FREE right now by getting next years season pass now for the lowest prices of the year and be able to join in on the Passholder Exclusive Event this Saturday that includes first tracks and a slopeside BBQ!

Lifts Spin at 9:00 on Friday! We will have 50 open and groomed trails of packed powder and freshly fallen powder. The wind has given us some nice powder drifts and refreshed our glades. Parks are open for all ages, sizes, and abilities. The small Jurassic Progression Park is open on Lower Periphery with beginner sized boxes and rails. Exhibition Park is open with some fresh grooming and shaping of the jump line plus even more rails and features. We also have our medium size, skate-style park on Stillness that received some fresh shaping and maintenance recently. We also have freestyle terrain on Higher Ground from the Skier and Boarder Cross events we have hosted this month that will stay put! Plus we still have our signature FunRun on Rock Island which includes a large berm, then a series of 6 quicker banked turns, 350+ feet of moguls, and a small jump line.

Eats and Happenings can be found at the Marketplace, the Schwendi Hutte, Buckets and T-Bars! See our Full Event Calendar for the entire list of Spring Activities including Lift Ticket Deal Days (JUST $1 ON FRIDAY, MARCH 31st), Season Passholder Appreciation Day, Nordic Skier Cross, and our huge, end of the season Concert and Pond Skimming beach bash.

Welcome Back Winter!

Awfully mountain. Bare spots over hills with poor visibility that weren't marked with caution flags. Very dangerous!!!

Pretty good conditions. Especially after the sun finally showed itself and softened the snow a bit. Starting to get a little mogul-y though, on the Oblivion side of the mountain.

The snow conditions are not the best but considering the weather recently, it isn't too bad on most trails. They have been making snow throughout the weekend and got some natural snow yesterday. The weather was pretty bad but unfortunately they have no control over that. Beginners might want to stay away but to any others it is still worth a visit. Apres ski is still humming along just fine too!
