Me and two others went up to Giant's Ridge on an Indy pass, a Ski cooper Season pass, and a Boho partner pass. We were all thoroughly impressed with Giant Ridge set up, snow quality, and variety of runs. It was the Sunday of MLK and the lift lines were short (ranging from no wait to 2 min max peak of the day). The area makes great use of what is there. Lots of great runs from beginner to advanced. We played a bit in both terrain parks hitting the small features, did the bumps run a few times, and played on the short but steep black diamonds on the right side as well. Helsinki will give you some speed if you are looking for a longer steep run and the bumps on Nagano were in need of more snow, but still fun to lap a few times that weekend. A hidden gem was Sunshine which while it is a green run, has rollers for multiple small airs if one wishes. Plenty of trees to duck off into and other mixed terrain all over the resort. Even if by the end of the day there was some corduroy left if looked for it. Lifts were fast and the parking was ample. We tailgated for lunch and liquid, but the bar and restaurant looked nice. For comparison, I've skied and boarded all over the Midwest and west would come back up to Giant's anytime. The Saturday before was at Sprit Mountain (and while that was great too) my crew was super happy we went further north to check out giant's ridge. I think almost anyone could have fun at Giant's ridge.
Great layout, lots of Varity
Almost Canada...(for a midwestern person)

Always fun and a pleasure at Giants Ridge. It's not Aspen but I didn't expect it to be. Very good value, short lift lines, variety of runs, top notch from top to bottom. We never are disappointed when we leave and always look forward to our return.
Great value, friendly staff, long runs, excellent Midwest Resort, excellent new chalet,
Night life needs more life.

Beautiful views of Wynne and Sabin Lakes and outstanding snow conditions. Icy patches are the norm for Minnesota ski resorts but the 2 trips I have made to Giants Ridge this winter have been tremendous. The snow conditions at Giants Ridge have been terrific. Giants Ridge also has a great ski school for kids and adults alike. I highly recommend Giants Ridge.

Giants Ridge, calling this place average is a nice statement. The terrain park was bad, the runs were bad, the chairs were old and run down, it was pricey, and it had a small beginner area. Food was bad as well. I usually would give a reccomendation on where you should go on the mountain, but for this place my reccomendation is to go to either Spirit Mtn or Lutsen. Or just don't go. Don't waste your time and money here.
None.
Closed half the Mountain early (weather was fine) bad everything.

The skiing was the only thing that was good at Giants Ridge. The food at the chalet is very very expensive, and not very good so pack your own lunch. The Lodge was a total disaster. Our room was not ready at check in,and the pool was warmer than the hot tub. Our room never got below 80 degrees, which normally would be nice, but when putting on ski clothes, it gets a bit uncomfortable. Also we payed extra for a room with a fire place, and were not able to use it. We even tried opening the windows to cool it down. We also didn't get maid service. When I brought these problems to the front desk, they acted put off to actually have to deal with someone, were unsympathetic and I had to ask for some garbage bags and more towels.
Tons of runs
Bad Staff
I stayed at "The Lodge" right next to the slopes and it was a lot of fun being able to go out - come back in for a rest and some coffee, n go back out and hit some more runs.
Great runs and GREAT Park!
Hurt myself...
Ive visited this place twice and have liked it both times. It isn't a Lutsen, but that is fine with me. This resort is in a remote area and requires a long drive from Minneapolis, but it is nice to get away from the city. I dont care much for terrain arks, so i really dont care if this one is up to par. Worth the visit, but an extera hour of driving into the middle of nowhere will get you to Lutsen, which is by no doubt the best overall in the Midwest.
Good terrain and run length for Minnesota
Far away from Minneapolis (but worth it)
I have been too 8 different resorts this season. Giants Ridges website claims that they the #1 terrain park in the state and the #2 in the midwest. 7 of the 8 places i have been too have had way better terrain parks! And they all had less runs but sick parks. I love to ride rails and boxes. From the info on there website i was vary excited to go and check out there parks. Bigger ski resort even bigger terrain park disapointment
steep runs and vary fast
terrain parks are not as good as they claim

Giants Ridge is just an average ski area. They have bad food, bad chairs and a bad terrain park. But they do have 35 runs. If the Calgary chair is closed it doesn't matter. Also their lift tickets are ripoffs.
They had a lot of fun blue runs
They had a fourth of the area closed
