Great place to learn to ski. Had a really good deal package for newbies with no equipment and experience. Would recommend to family and friends. Location and mountain are reasonable for the price.

Wachusett is overall a good learning and family mountain. Smith Walton and 10th offer a decent challenge but by and large the strength of this mountain is in it's green and blue trails. The downside is the crowds. Ski midweek or do a half day mornings because many trails become icy, including the blue trails by early afternoon. I took my kids to lessons there and wasn't impressed. One of the instructors was good but the kids weren't assessed correctly and hence it wasn't worth it.
Good beginner mountain, night skiing
Crowds, staff, conditions

The lesson I paid for was abusive. None of instructors were excited to go out with me. They “hot potatoed” me to the Asian instructor, who despite everything I tried was difficult to understand. I was nice at first but then realized that the smiling was mistaken for agreement and the man wasn’t listening to me AT ALL. They wouldn’t listen to me to assess my skill level. Spent 25 minutes on the bunny slope proving to them I had had a few lessons previously. Just a waste. The lessons are for babysitting children. Send your kids if you want to hit the slopes solo. Not for adults seriously trying to improve. Avoid if you can. Big regret wasting the couple days I had in the area at this place.

A great place to spend the winter season

Parking a concern

Good skiing. Lodge empties out between 2-4.
Excellent for learning & getting good intermediate runs
Parking attendants try to stop parking near lodge saying no spaces available but many empty spaces near lodge at 2:35 . They need to allow people to look for parking spaces.

Easy to access all facilities especially from one lift to another. Sometimes crowded but trails connect well so one can find less crowded area. Go outside when lodge is full & vice versa.
Grooming done every 4 hours and great snowmaking
Parking in upper lot usually full until 2 pm
Unhappy Skier
What happened to stated skier count limits?
Oversold every day, lift lines 20-30 minutes.

I grew up skiing this mountain and it is the jam. I went night skiing every friday night and am full of fond memories. Also the baked potato, french fries and burgers are amazing.

Wachusett has changed in resent years. I am a beginner skier. Three years ago I visited with a friend who is a trained ski instruction. We had a wonderful day, the resort was run smoothly from parking to renting equipment. This year we were not allowed to park although there were clearly spaces available, we had to park elsewhere. For the savings of $15 dollars we were denied a credit because we did not possess our ski passes from Shawnee Peak. The staff was rude from the time I got my boots till the time I left.

Went snowboarding on 12/30/2018. Was very little snow coverage. The mountain is mostly covered in ice and grass. Very little snow and there was none being made.
Good for a single day of skiing
all ice, very little coverage, small mountain
