Rossignol wants skiers to "experience" more of the mountain with this versatile line of rockered all-mountain skis. In the Experience 98 (98 mm underfoot), tip and tail rocker add soft snow performance and a Cascade Tip—with staggered lengths of metal and fiberglass—decreases swing weight and helps with turn initiation. The edge grip comes from traditional camber underfoot combined with Rossignol's Extended Sidecut, detectable at speed when more sidecut is engaged as edge angles increase. A full wood core, a sheet of titanium and traditional sidewalls add precision and control. "I almost confused it for a narrow carver," said Beidleman. "It's a stiff ski," said Mahon, "but quiet as can be—no vibration or chatter in the turn, and it turns effortlessly."
