Snow Report
Status update for Sat, Mar 25

6:30 AM

Yesterday's snow globe conditions have calmed today, leaving us with overcast skies and 4 to 6 inches of dense snowfall. With three of our upper mountain lifts on windhold yesterday, the stashes lay largely untouched at higher elevations. Precipitation briefly switched to a wintry mix overnight, leaving a crust on top of our new snow that sharp ski edges will help to break up. Heavy skier traffic should greatly improve conditions throughout the day, and mild temperatures will make for some excellent, soft turns.

The groomers rolled 49 trails, including Elbow, Murphy's Glades & Birdland. The off-piste is tempting, but hidden obstacles are common and there's barely a base at lower elevations. For freestyle fun, head to Sugarbush Parks' 19 snow hits on Slowpoke, 42 advanced sets on Riemergasse and a rowdy banked slalom course through Sugar Run.

GMX, Super Bravo & Heaven's Gate are scheduled at 8 AM. All other lifts open at 9 AM, except Slide Brook, which loads 10 AM - 3:15 PM. The Mad Bus provides shuttle service between both base areas & throughout the Mad River Valley.

North Ridge Express is down for maintenance. Mt. Ellen passholders are invited to ski and ride at Lincoln Peak for the rest of the season. As we prepare for the addition of a new Village Quad for Winter 17/18, the Village Double is currently being disassembled. If you are not quite ready for Gate House, beginners should head to the Sunny D lift and Lower Crackerjack for longer gentle runs.

Don your Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts for Island Weekend. Keep hula-snow-dancing after the lifts close at the Luau in the Sky at Walt's at the Glenn House. Take a guided Tour de Sol & check out UVM's King of the Chill Banked Slalom. Enjoy drink specials, live music, & a tropical apres scene.

Get your 2017-2018 season passes now at the lowest prices of the year and enjoy lift access for the rest of the 2016-2017 season.

Be better informed with the Sugarbush App for both Apple and Android devices. Uphill travel is permitted on designated routes. Review the Skier Responsibility code for a safe season of adventure.

Fri 3/22 - Snowed 4-8 inches from base to the peak today, and was still snowing in the top half at close. Here's a gift...they never opened the top of Lincoln Peak today, so Saturday morning head there for fresh and somewhat deep untouched powder. Mount Ellen was hover open up top, and no one was there! Nice to be able to hit fresh snow in Spring!
