I love Mammoth because it’s close but it is starting to get very crowded. Hoping that snowmaking can be focused on Canyon and Eagle lodge lifts to keep more of the mountain open throughout the year.
Proximity to Southern California, lots of open space blue runs, great ski in ski out at Eagle lodge
Crowded when Canyon and Eagle are closed, restaurant options overpriced and not many diverse options, blue/black terrain is limited.

I’ve skied all over California, Colorado, Germany and Austria. Overall, Mammoth is by far the best overall. Yes not perfect in all areas, but nothing compares to the overall experience for all levels of skier. I could go on for days about this place, but if you’ve ever been, or talked to anyone who has, or even looked at advertisements, you k ow what I mean. If you have never been, you MUST put this on your short list for a great week or long weekend of skiing and all the other fun activities!!!

The drive from LA is a lot but it’s a solid mountain across the board. Don’t feel like I’m losing much at all when I go there vs Utah/Colorado mountains
Lots of mountain to explore, fun city, really fun environment
Distance from major cities

Ethan and Karen in the ticket line made for a very accommodating and personal experience. Super friendly and generous people. Can’t wait for our next visit when we have hero’s like them to make our day special!
Family friendly, kind, outgoing

I love Mammoth and have been skiing there for years. However, the music the resort plays in the locker rooms and ski area is horrible. Mammoth needs to bring back Rock n’ Roll. Please un-break my heart and let Rock n’ Roll reign at Mammoth, again.
Best resort for snow!
Needs better music.

I have been to mammoth on 4 separate occasions. Each time a storm would come in and shut down the mountain. You do not want to be at the mountain during the storm. The lifts shut down and funnel everyone to the base where the lines can stack up. Besides this, mammoth is an awesome mountain. Great terrain for advanced and expert skiers that want to get into some grizzly stuff.
The all mountain terrain is world class, lift infrastructure is modern and the layout is efficient. Facilities are well kept.
Los Angeles crowd of Jerry’s, any snowfall results in lift closures for avalanche mitigation, storms are often windy and result is upper mountain lift closures.

Mammoth is wonderful, except for the creepy gondola supervisor I always enjoy it!
To many people most of the time!

Great snow, great mountain but prices have gotten out of hand. $20 for a daily locker, $20 hamburger & $249 for a single day lift ticket, which is just gouging.
Great mountain & great grooming
$249 for a lift ticket is well beyond ridiculous
