Extremly, disapointed that they did not open up the lifts, even with clear blue sky and not so much wind.
Great terrain, ability to ski to Zermatt
Seems to be sensitive to weather

Took my family plus significant others total of 8 people with varying levels of skiing ability. There was great skiing for all levels, with excellent snow cover. Priced very reasonably, and the amenities on the mountain were great. The town is walkable, no need for a rental car. Restaurants were excellent and had everything from pizza and burgers to great steaks and Italian specialties. The fondue place was a fun night out for the group. The Apres ski was very good, we especially liked the Yeti bar next to slopes.
Great snow, great variety of terrain, food excellent, town was quaint and fun.

We skiied/snowboarded in Cervinia in February 2023. The resort is over-priced for what you get. The slopes are OK but nothing exciting. Bored of the sight of Plan Maison, we ventured over to Valtourneche but the pistes were icy. Visited a restaurant there and the loo was a French hole in the ground. Good luck in ski boots! Throughout the week, large chunks of the day were spent on old chair lifts with no bubble or old gondolas with no seats, so we decided not to bankrupt ourselves upgrading our lift passes for a one-day trip to Switzerland. The town was quaint but with a lack of decent eateries open (in Feb!) and only one supermarket. Oh, and they won't refund you the lift pass deposit as you're supposed to keep it for "next time". There won't be a next time.

Cervinia is a good resort for the intermediates, no real challenging runs but very picturesque and flowing runs thriughout. The runs are typically long top to bottom if you wanted or you could do the shorter runs between chairs. The Cervinia side is very linear up&down across the side of the mountain and if you add Zermatt to the lift pass (very expensive) it adds the Swiss side that is split into 3 distinct areas that are joined by lifts and a run or two. Food was great and some of the restaurants have some quality Italian food but I thought the town of Cervinia needed another supermarket and a bit more non ski leisure to be really comparible to an Austrian town x
Nice small village with good central lift access, good apres and easy reds everywhere. Zermatt adds a lot of areas but at a price!
Piste maps at all lift stations would be great and a couple of lifts to link sideways would greatly assist the region.

Will not be back, Paid for a full area pass at an extortionate rate only to find most of the resort lifts were shut for most of the week because of the wind, we probably skied about a third of the area, slopes in terrible condition as everyone skiing on half a dozen runs. Never understood the wind problem sometimes as lifts ran could be running on windy days then they were not running on better days. Should be a refund system for the lack of ski area.
Nice scenery

Where do you start? 4 days skiing only from a weeks pass due to lift closures, a ski school that puts a beginner on a chair lift with no instruction? a ski school that puts 7 year old children with adults? a website that shows lifts are being prepared to open and then they don’t , but by then it’s so late in the day you can’t go anywhere else. A level of indifference from some of the restaurants and cafes if you are not Italian, with them being seated and served whilst you sit waiting and watch them walk in after yourselves. Lift connections are so that half the resort can be unavailable if one lift is not running. On the plus side the scenery is magnificent and the hotel we were in ( Edelweiss ) the staff and owners were friendly. As for the skiing , a few nice pistes are available and if you just want that then you will be happy. Otherwise a very frustrating resort to ski in.
Easy skiing for intermediates
No challenge for intermediates and above

This place is a hidden gem in the Italian side of the Matterhorn, it’s 160 km of Piste on the Italian side and 200 kms on the link into Zermatt on the Swiss side. The skiing is on wide well kept pistes that for me define the level, there is far more here for the good/very good social skier than the experts that seek out real challenges... you can easily do 40-50 kms a day as the lifts are rarely busy and the links make it easy, it is obvious that the place has constant re investment into the system. The cafes and chalets in the slopes serve good food at a reasonable cost, I write this as I drink a 1.50 euro black coffee... after the days skiiing if you want to drink head for the dragon for drinks sport on the tv and some live music with plenty of brits, early evening Lino s tent if you are feeling a little more frivolous or the Yeti, all the prices are reasonable, going into food the way restaurants go from functional cheap and cheerful to exquisite really it depends on what you want to pay all I have been in have been worth the money. Ski hire and ski shops go and see Ivano at Adriano sports very handy place at plan maison....
Guaranteed snow, and lift availability

This review is written in mid November 2019, all the slopes are open and the snow conditions are amongst the best I have ever encountered, the only down side is not all the bars and cafes are open, and you can be on a defined piste and not see anyone. If you want to ski in a paradise on and off piste with freedom in the early season this is superb

Top!
Comprensorio sconfinato.
